Objectives:

  • Create path of least resistance through the abdominal wall
  • Streaming gas insufflation enhances instantaneous pressure equalization and rapid pneumoperitoneum
  • Blunt dilation of the fascial tract allows effortless trocar system insertion
  • Not a “blind” procedure: haptic and visual signals inform the surgeon to stop advancement of the hollow/blunt tipped entry instrument
  • Eliminates patient variables of age, sex, body habitus.
  • Eliminates variables related to individual surgeon experience and background.
